OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Do certain sounds bother your child, textures make mealtimes difficult or getting dressed become a battle? Your child may also find it difficult to handle objects or take part in activities.
We help you understand their needs and adapt tasks, activities and their environment so they feel more comfortable and can participate more easily in everyday life.
When everyday tasks become challenges.
Let’s help your child build independence.
Let’s talk about what you’re going through.
When sensory experiences take over.
Do sounds, clothing or certain textures trigger strong reactions? Does your child constantly seek movement or particular sensations?
Understand what bothers your child or what they seek, and discover how to adapt their environment and activities. Practical strategies help them feel more comfortable and participate in everyday life.
When using the toilet becomes a challenge.
Does your child refuse to sit on the toilet, hold it in or agree to pee in the toilet but not poop?
You’re no longer sure how to help them move forward.
Together, we explore what makes this learning process difficult and find strategies suited to their needs.
The goal is to make the experience feel safer, reduce pressure and gradually support greater independence.
When bedtime takes the whole evening.
Does your child struggle to settle down, need you nearby to fall asleep or wake up frequently?
Difficult nights eventually take a toll on the whole family.
We explore your child’s habits, needs and environment to identify what may be making sleep difficult. Practical adjustments to routines and bedtime help create conditions that are more conducive to rest.
When “all by myself” isn’t so simple.
Does getting dressed, using utensils or handling small objects take a lot of effort?
Your child gets discouraged or asks for your help at every step.
Discover what makes these tasks difficult and how to help them progress. Adapted activities and approaches build on their abilities so they can do more on their own.
A diagnosis or unanswered questions. A clearer understanding of your child’s needs.
Do you suspect your child may have a condition, or have they already received a diagnosis? You want to understand what it means in their everyday life.
Whether your concerns relate to autism, sensory modulation difficulties or something else, we explore your child’s strengths and the obstacles they encounter during activities. You leave with practical strategies to better support them and, when needed, referrals to appropriate resources.
When getting through the day takes a lot of effort.
Does group noise bother your child, do arts and crafts leave them discouraged or are routines difficult to follow? Their educators or teachers tell you that certain parts of the day are particularly demanding.
We explore what makes participation difficult and suggest practical adaptations to activities, materials or the environment. Working with you and your child’s educators or school team, we help them take part in the day with greater ease and independence.

What is occupational therapy ?
Occupational therapy helps your child feel more comfortable in everyday life: playing, getting dressed, eating, sleeping and participating in activities at child care or school.
When certain sensations bother them, they constantly seek movement or everyday tasks take a lot of effort, an occupational therapist explores what makes these situations difficult.
Together with you, they find strategies tailored to your child’s sensory needs and abilities. By adjusting activities, routines or the environment, they help your child experience more success and build independence, while giving you practical ways to support them.
